Fall Fashion 2015

This time of year I'm swapping Stetsons for stilettos and everything in between.

Step out of your comfort zone with any of these fun fabulous looks.

I love leather, fur, denim and sparkle which happen to be the hottest trends this fall!

My advice is to invest in one or two great pieces that you can get a lot of wear out of.

Sequins were a big thing last year and it looks like the trend is sticking around for another season. The sparkly look is definitely statement making so remember to keep everything else minimal. I have a super cute racer back sequin top I got at the NFR last year and have only worn it once so far. To get the most use out of it, I’m going to revamp it this winter by layering it under a chic shawl, leather jacket or blazer. I also have a great blazer with bronze sequins on the front and faux leather sleeves and back. It can be worn with jeans, leggings and tall boots, a long skirt or to top off a classic LBD.

So let's be honest, who isn't stoked that chunky cozy knit sweaters are being up cycled this year to add to a chic comfy look? There are so many great ways to wear sweaters! Layered under a vest or leather jacket, layered over a cute button up? What better way to get wear out of your rodeo shirts in the off season! A little pattern or color peaking out at the collar and cuffs under a knit sweater can change a whole look! If you’re going to a horse event, you want to be warm and comfortable, so layer up!

And bling? We all knew that was coming back. You may not have even phased it out yet. So the great news is, you can simply revamp it by focusing on one statement piece at a time.

Earrings, a choker, cuff or a bold ring is perfect for punching up an otherwise understated outfit. Just remember to pick your piece based on what best accentuates your look. If I'm wearing a high necked sweater or jacket with long sleeves, I'm going to opt for earrings, or a ring, something that will pop under a hat or look chic peeking out under long sleeves. If I wore an open neck, I'll throw on a scarf or statement necklace.

Feeling extra frisky? Fight the frost with fur! Fur and faux fur detail and pieces are so hot this year! Not quite ready to commit to a fur jacket? Try a vest! Keep that your statement piece and accessorize with any of the above depending on where the most skin is revealed. Still too much? How about fur cuffs on a jacket, mitts or boot cuffs?

Finally, OTK Boots (over the knee boots), I've been waiting for this day! I have a pair of suede black OTK boots that I've been dying to wear! Don't want to splurge? Recreate the look with a pair of knee high boots over leggings, stockings or even, dare I say it, bare thighs and tall boot socks, or boot cuffs!

Let’s not forget the Autumn accessory staples; Scarves, Mitts, Gloves and Toques

(That’s right, I’m Canadian y’all! Also known as ‘stocking caps’ for you yanks!)
